April 18, 2008 - We're ®
It took quite some time and lots of documentation going back and forth, but at long last the Collectorz.com brand is R. This means we are now a registered trademark and are allowed to use the R in all our communication: Collectorz.com®.
Cool.
April 3, 2008 - New colleague: Martin Keur
Martin Keur joined us on April 1st. Martin used to work at one of Amsterdam’s biggest music stores Boudisque. Alas, they had to close down after almost 40 years being the best music shop in town, maybe even in The Netherlands. Luckily Martin sent his resume to us.
With his in depth music knowledge he will bring our database to a higher level. Visit our forum and discuss music and our database with Martin. His forum name is MetalMartin, which explains his taste in music. He is a huge collector himself, owning at least 6.000 CDs. At his home he has a special room filled with CDs and DVDs. His movie knowledge will also come in handy when he works on our online movie database.
We’re very happy with Martin joining our team.
March 13, 2008 - New Collectorz.com website
The Collectorz.com website has a new look!
In this redesign, we aimed for a clean look and a clear navigation structure. The new site is easier on the eye and focuses more on what's important: telling you everything there is to know about our software.
To achieve this, we removed the quite colorful menu on the left, replacing it with a simple horizontal menu at the top. This created more room for feature descriptions and lots of large screenshots.
March 4, 2008 - Press release: Digistore & Collectorz.com
Press release
DIGISTORE COLLABORATES WITH COLLECTORZ.COM TO PROVIDE ULTIMATE DVD AND CD CATALOGING
Wilmington, Del.- Digistore Solutions, an internationally known supplier of optical digital asset management products and solutions, announced today that Collectorz.com’s Music Collector and Movie Collector software now provide fully integrated support for Digistore’s Centurion CD disc storage system.
When used in conjunction with the Collectorz.com software, customers can link CD and/or DVD discs in their databases to slots within the Centurion CD, use the program’s browse and search features to find the disc they are searching for, and automatically rotate and eject desired discs. The software can even keep track of the exact location of movies and music when multiple Centurion CD devices are linked together.
“Collectorz.com has developed a quick and easy solution to catalog music and movies, which is extremely helpful to users trying to locate a particular disc within a carousel storage system like the Centurion CD,” said Victor Foo, Chief Executive Officer of Digistore Solutions. “By ensuring compatibility of the Collectorz.com software with the Centurion CD, we are providing customers the peace of mind of knowing that the fully integrated support will allow them to use both products together without complexity, unnecessary incompatibilities, system glitches or other costly and time-consuming problems.”

March 3, 2008 - New colleagues
Our lunch table is really getting crowded: we’ve hired two new colleagues. At the same time we had to say goodbye to our movie database admin Vincent Tempelaar.
Vinnie only worked part time at our office next to his study at the Aviation Academy. Today is his first day at his course at Air Traffic Control in Brussels, Belgium. Obviously, this can’t be combined with his work at our office so our ways parted but not without a huge farewell drink at the local Irish Pub.
To replace Vinnie, we’ve hired Alain Vleesch du Bois. Alain is a 3rd year student at the School of Economics Amsterdam. He is knee-deep into movies, which is a big plus if you’re processing them all day.
Patrick Machielse is our second new colleague, although he is no stranger. He has been working freelance at our office since August 2007, to further develop and maintain our Mac software.
We’re delighted that we could persuade Patrick to come and join our programming team!

Today we celebrated 6 years of Bitz & Pixelz. We invited friends, network and families to celebrate our 6th birthday and, at the same time, did the housewarming of our new office.
We can look back on years of product development and a steady growth of products, new people and office size :-). Check out our website regularly to see what the next year will bring.
August 22, 2006 - New payment service
We have moved our online payments to Bibit, one of the leading providers of secure electronic payment services. The most important reason for us to switch to Bibit is the availability of local payment methods and local currencies.
Before this switch you could only pay in US Dollars and Euros, but we now also support the British pound.
Country specific payment methods for several European countries have been added to our ordering page, for example the British Solo Card, the French Virement bancaire, the German Banküberweisung, the Austrian Paybox and iDeal for The Netherlands.
All country specific payment options are shown on the secure ordering page. Here you choose which one you want to use in ordering our Collectorz.com products.

July 28, 2006 - Office on the move (again)
Today we have moved all our stuff to a bigger office within this building. We are now with 8 people and our old grounds became too small.
Luckily for us there were bigger offices available in this huge building, a former hospital in the center of Amsterdam, near the Leidseplein. Instead of demolishing it, it is now used as a building for hundreds of (small) companies. We only had to move all our computers 1 floor up so we were up and running in no time.
We are very happy with this new place and expect to stay here for a long time. (note that we are record holders moving: 6 times in 6 years).
June 22, 2006 - Collectorz.com Comic database
With the release of Comic Collector 3.0 we introduced our own Collectorz.com Comic database.
It lets you add new comics to your database by just typing the Series name and selecting the issues you own. The program will then automatically download all comic data (including publisher, date, credits and characters) plus the cover images. You can also use the online database to update existing database entries.
The comic database is built and maintained using data and images submitted by our customers. We employ one full-time database admin to process these submissions.
May 23, 2006 - Partnership: the Ziotek CD/DVD Carousel

Read more about this cool gadget for storing CDs and DVDs on the Collectorz.com website.
May 2, 2006 - Collectorz.com on your iPod
We keep on improving our products and we're proud to announce our new Export to iPod Notes feature.
It lets you export your list to the Notes section of your iPod. Browse your collection on your iPod while in the store and check what you already own, right there on the spot. Take your list with you at all times and avoid duplicate purchases.

March 8, 2006 - Multi language support in Collectorz.com software

Check out our information pages for the available languages but next to English and Dutch you'll find German, French, Polish, Italian, Spanish and Turkish.

After 4 years of being a 2 person company, we decided we needed an extra programmer to help us with the development of existing and new products.

November 12, 2004 - New ticketing system for support emails
This week, we started using a ticketing system (Cerberus) for all support email accounts. Cerberus will help us streamline the handling of support questions, by keeping track of conversations, pending tickets, passing tickets from first-line support (Peter Gadzinski) to the developers, etc...
Nothing will change for our users, you can just send your email to one of the standard support@ email addresses and Cerberus will pick it up. A ticket number (e.g. [muc #FGH-84373-273]) will appear in the Subject line of our replies.
